It's hard to believe we're nearing the end of another great month in 2nd grade!
Here is everything you need to know to stay up-to-date:
Important Dates/Things to Return:
2/22 - Science Homework goes home (as usual it is due the next day)
3/1 - Class Picture Day, send in money asap.
3/3 - Crazy Hair Day, AND Read Across America Day, AND Spelling Quiz
--- Yellow Enrollment Form: fill out and return ASAP
--- Any students who are being OPTED OUT of the "Think First Stay Safe" program must bring back the information sheet signed, otherwise, students will stay in the room for Ms. Aimone's Lesson. Please refer to the sheet (the opt out is at the bottom) that came home in the VIPs for more info.

Reading: Story Elements
What is the plot? Setting? Problem/Solution? As you read together at home, ask questions about these things!
Writing: Finishing Opinion, Starting Informational
We are wrapping up our Opinion Unit, and students will write their Post Unit pieces on Friday! This will be graded on a rubric, like you saw with the Narrative Post, and taken as a Quiz Grade.
We will start the Informational Unit next week, where students will write about topics they are "experts" of!
Grammar: Review & Dictionary Skills
Review old skills, and spiral review.
Next week, we will practice finding words, understanding the symbols, and picking correct word meanings from a dictionary.
IXL Practice: E.3, F.2, R.1, R.2, M.3, M.4, Y.1, Y.2, and EE.1.
Math: Unit 4- Balancing Equations and 3 Digit Subtraction
Practice adding three or more 2-digit numbers, using our methods.

Science: Changes in Matter
We will learn about measuring matter (volume, mass, and length), and how it can change: dissolve, melt, freeze, condense, etc.
Health: Review the 3 R's, and Empathy
