  • We're starting off at high speeds as we dive into the 2nd Quarter! Here is all you need to know!

Red Ribbon Week Theme Days:

-- Monday, October 24 - Red Day - Wear as much RED as possible to kick off Red Ribbon Week 2016!

-- Tuesday, October 25 - Crazy Sock Day - Wear Crazy Socks as a reminder to keep your body healthy and strong!

-- Wednesday, October 26 – College Day - Wear apparel from your favorite college! Remember that making healthy choices is the key to a bright future.

-- Thursday, October 27 – Backwards Day - Wear your clothes backwards to show that we will respect ourselves by turning our backs on unhealthy and unsafe choices.

-- Friday, October 28 – Spirit Wear Day - Wilson Creek Wildcats can be a positive influence on each other! Take responsibility by keeping yourself and others safe.

  • Reading: We're continuing to learn about folktales! We are comparing and contrasting well known folktales/fairy tales with ones from other cultures, or modern versions. Please continue to read at home!

  • Writing: We've finished our Narrative Unit! This week we are starting an awesome project- publishing a class book! Stay tuned for how you can order the book once we have completed it!

  • Grammar: This week we're studying collective nouns, such as "a flock of sheep", "a school of fish", "a bunch of grapes". Try to use these in conversation at home!

  • ​2nd grade IXL grammar: R.1 and R.2

  • Math: 2-digit Addition, with and without regrouping, using our 3 learned methods (base ten blocks, number line, and expanded form). Also continue counting coins! Practice this at home as much as possible- count what's in your pocket, whats under the couch, what's in their piggy bank...

  • 2nd grade IXL math activities: P.1, P.3, P.4, E.12, E.16
