Welcome back everyone! I hope you enjoyed your long weekend!

WCES is celebrating Exceptional Children’s Week this week! We are so proud of our friends with special needs who try so very hard each and every day!

  • Science: Your child brought home their Energy Study Guide on Monday. We will be taking our energy test on Thursday, March 17th. Be sure to study!

  • Reading: We are reading Flat Stanley in preparation of our Spring Break project! Many of you have heard of this project from years past- stay tuned for info on what we will do with the book. Until then, we are reading it chapter by chapter, and having discussions & answering comprehension questions along the way!

  • Writing: We are continuing our Information Unit of Writing. Students are creating a book on a wild cat they researched, and we are publishing soon!

  • Math:

  • Group 1- We are continuing Unit 5, investigating shapes and their attributes. We will make real life connections, and learn the attributes of a cube. Check the grade level website for more resources!

  • Group 2- Continuing Grade 3 Unit2, understanding multiplication. In this unit it is very important that students understand that the "x" symbol means "groups of"- this will help them understand that 3 x 5 means three groups of five, and that this is different from 5 x 3, which is five groups of three. The parent letter contains valuable information, so you can always refer to that.

As always, let us know if you have any questions or concerns!
